Projekt722 was an art gallery in Williamsburg, Brooklyn that hosts exhibitions by contemporary artists and independent curators. Projekt722's mission was to be a exhibition platform for great work, to contribute to the city's diverse art community, and to promote dialogue around important contemporary artists.
The gallery aimed to break down barriers that often prevent people from experiencing art. By establishing a approachable forum for art, Projekt722 benefited both artists and the larger community.
Projekt722 was founded in 2012 and run by four co-directors, all artists in their own right who share the responsibilities of maintaining the space and curating exhibitions. The gallery space itself occupied what would otherwise be unused communal space in an industrial building where the four artists had studios. During its three-year run, Projekt722 hosted 30 exhibitions.
Hilary Doyle and Reid Hitt’s new curatorial practice is HR.
